In the act of vulnerability, we hold the agency to: make a stand, navigate an important relationship, take a step closer to living in alignment with our values, experience something totally new to us, experience ourselves like never before… and so much more.
It is an empowering act.
We want to have the capacity to be able to be vulnerable with those in our life in the moments we choose, with healthy boundaries of course. (Vulnerability is not meant to be a default act – it is a skill or capacity we choose to use on occasion).
It means being able to hold our discomfort and do something new with it. To enact a change. And, as with all our relational skills, it is like building a muscle. The more we meet our edge here and try it out, the more likely we are to be able to access it in a future occasion.
For me, vulnerability holds courage, heart, truth and liberation. Also self-doubt, fear and the unknown. What does it hold for you?
Come along to this session if you’re curious about your relationship with vulnerability. We’ll revisit some (adapted) practices from the “Vulnerable” mini-course. As always, the format will offer a combination of solo, dyad or triad, and whole group practice.
Hope to see you there.
